Saudi Shoura Council delegation visits European Parliament

RIYADH: A Shoura Council delegation begins a visit to the European Parliament headquarters on Monday in the Belgian capital Brussels.

The delegation is visiting following an invitation from the European Parliament.

The delegation is headed by Ayman bin Saleh Fadel, council member and head of the Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Committee with the European Parliament.

Fadel said that the visit was in the context of the work of the Shoura Council on parliamentary diplomacy and in strengthening cooperation between the Shoura Council and the European Parliament.

He said that the visit would include meetings with the Belgian side to discuss topics that would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ and Belgium, especially parliamentary cooperation between the Shoura Council and the Belgian Federal Parliament.

During the visit the delegation will hold the 15th parliamentary meeting between ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ and the EU, and will meet members of the European Parliament, members of the Belgian Federal Parliament and officials at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The delegation has arrived in Brussels and was received by Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Jindan, the Kingdom’s ambassador to Belgium and Luxemburg, officials at the embassy and from the Kingdom’s mission to the EU.

The delegation includes a number of members of the Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Committee with the European Parliament including Khalid bin Mahmoud Zubair, Raeda bint Abdullah Abu Nayan, Mutaib bin Ayed Al-Mutairi, Hadi bin Ali Al-Yami and Huda bint Abdulrahman Al-Helaissi.
